Ice breaker, anyone? This game can easily be adapted for use in a classroom or homeschool setting. Perfect for Back to School season!

For the classroom, this game is the perfect way to learn about your students, and for them to learn about each other. Use at the beginning of the year or return from breaks.
Alternatively, use this game to introduce the concept of opinions and opinion writing.
As a home educating parent you know how busy life can be. Need a few minutes to yourself? Toss this game to grandparents or siblings to play together, or bring it along to your next co-op!
You can extend this game by having children record their answers and turn that into a beginning of the year keepsake. This serves as both a record of their writing ability and a snapshot of their personality at this age.
Short on time? I’ve created this mini My Favorites booklet template where students can draw, trace, or write their answers.

Now you could just sit in a circle and take turns rolling the die and saying your answer but that’s not super engaging.

Here are 3 ways to spice up this favorites dice game:
- Sing Your Answers
- If you have an energetic bunch, they will LOVE this
- Instead of simply saying their answers, encourage them to use high and low voices to sing their answers
- If they don’t want to sing, they could act it out or mime as well.
- Draw Your Answers
- This is best played in small groups of 3-4 so students can all have a chance to roll then draw their answers before they forget
- Consider setting a timer for 2-3 minutes after everyone has rolled
- Guess Who?
- if you have a competitive group, they will love this!
- Have students silently write their answer, collect the answers and pull each from a hat
- Read them out one by one and have the group guess which answer belongs to who.
